Constructing a
yacht, in our opinion, does not merely involve
the
transferring of boat
designs received from naval architects and structural
engineers to the
shop-floor.
Conversely, DK
Yachts
offers the exclusive
opportunity to utilise the unique combination of fully integrated
digital mock-up technology and precise NC-controlled milling of moulds.
Handled by its designers with a wide experience in composite structures,
yacht design and manufacturing, the DK team first shapes and simulates the
components on the computer, running CATIA, one of the high-end 3D-CAD
systems. The team design complex free form surfaces, convert design
drawings and develop solutions to problems.
Once satisfied with
form, fit and function, single components of
the virtual yacht are then used to create the milling programmes for mould
making. Free-form shaped faces, highly integrated parts reducing the heavy
joints and remarkable accuracy offers unprecedented advantages for
production boats as well as one-offs.
